I’ve been here several times and still believe the dumplings are the standout as the other dishes just don’t measure up in the same way. This time around, we came for lunch and between the three of us, we had the scallop shui mai, lobster dumpling, blue swimmer crab Shanghai siew long bao, har gau, spicy pork szechuan wonton (all good), prawn and bean curd cheung fun (the best in London!), the spicy aubergine, sato bean, okra, french bean (felt it lacked a bit of depth in flavour) and egg fried rice (ok). As I've said, just order the dumplings!

Yauatcha still has some of the best Chinese / Asian food in London. I have been to both their branches many times over the last 12 years and have never been disappointed. At my latest visit in January 2025, we started with Scallop Shui Mai, Seafood Dumpling, Edamame Wakame Puff, Soft-crab Bun, and my two all-time favourites and must-haves: Prawn Toast and Prawn & Beancurd Cheung Fun. For the mains, we had Steamed Chilean Seabass, Stir Fry Scallop & Prawn and Egg Fried Rice. While everything tasted great, the Steamed Chilean Seabass was completely out of this world and worth its price tag (48). My only complaint for Yauatcha is that their Egg Fried Rice has never been as good since they changed their recipe a few years ago, and I'm never genuinely happy with it now. The service was attentive, polite and friendly. We had Viktoriia take care of us and she was very good. The restaurant is nice and warm in the cold winter months despite full glass walls overlooking Broadgate Circle. But they seem to have built their toilets in the tundra - no heating, blisteringly cold water, and even the hand dryers blow out freezing air. This, weirdly, was the only off-putting thing in the entire experience!

Unlimited dim sum here is worth popping in for. Not too bad value if you’re particularly hungry and know you’re gonna do a few rounds. Variety is less than what it used to be when they first launched their dim sum brunch though, so for those returning they may notice that. Quality is still there, with everything being freshly made as and when you order. All the dim sum tasted fresh, delicious and had just enough seasoning to highlight the ingredients. Especially the seafood dumplings. Service is also good and I feel the multiple staff looking after you genuinely want you to feel well catered for. Drinks get expensive though. A bottle of water for the table is pricey as are all the soft drinks. Think I spent the equivalent of a brunch on the drinks alone. I’d still return as I like the food, unlimited dumplings and the location. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Nestled in the heart of Broadgate, London, Yauatcha City stands as a beacon of contemporary Asian cuisine. This renowned eatery blends traditional flavors with modern techniques to create a culinary experience that is not just about food, but a celebration of culture and taste. With a menu that boasts a variety of exquisite dumplings, Yauatcha has carved a niche for itself among Londoners and tourists alike.

The highlight of any visit to Yauatcha City can be found in its acclaimed dumplings. Diners rave about signature selections such as the scallop shui mai, lobster dumpling, and the luscious blue swimmer crab Shanghai siew long bao. Christine Kim, a regular patron, emphasizes that the dumplings are the undeniable stars, elevating the dining experience far above the other dishes. She invites diners to focus on the dumpling offerings, including the crowd-pleaser, prawn and bean curd cheung fun, touted as the best in London!

Beyond the dumplings, Yauatcha City also presents an array of thoughtfully crafted dishes. From the delicate spicy pork Szechuan wonton to the savory stir-fried scallops and prawns, options abound for every palate. Customer Somaya Khan recalls a particularly memorable Steamed Chilean Seabass, claiming it to be "out of this world," clearly indicative of the kitchen's prowess. Each dish is prepared with precision, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and flavor.

As I walked through its glass walls overlooking Broadgate Circle, the warm ambiance welcomed me, drawing me away from the chilly air outside. While the service shone bright, with staff like Viktoriia providing attentive and friendly service, it’s worth noting that the restroom facilities could benefit from a little warmth—a quirky contrast to the overall polished dining atmosphere.

In summary, Yauatcha City is more than just a restaurant; it is a destination for those eager to indulge in sophisticated Asian cuisine. With a faithful following of patrons who cherish its well-executed dishes and vibrant atmosphere, it’s easy to see why it continues to be a staple in London's culinary scene. Whether you’re a dumpling devotee or simply looking to explore excellent flavors in a chic setting, Yauatcha City is not to be missed.
